ACQUA – VENEZIA – FUTURO

Our liquid – which we keep inside – is the same as the sea, the same as Venice.
Il nostro liquido – che ci teniamo dentro – è lo stesso del mare, lo stesso di Venezia.
Every cell of the body struggles throughout life to preserve the same concentration of the sea, the ancestral condition of our origin.
Ogni cellula del corpo lotta tutta la vita per preservare in sé la stessa concentrazione del mare, condizione ancestrale della nostra origine.
The canals of this city are the arteries, the rii the veins, gradually smaller, up to the capillaries, the arterioles.
I canali di questa città sono le arterie, i rii le vene, via-via più piccoli, fino ai capillari, alle arteriole.
We are the cells that compose it…
Noi siamo le cellule che la compongono…
Who are born, live and die there, each responsible for its existence.
Che nascono, vivono e vi muoiono, ognuna responsabile della sua esistenza.
And why not being able to believe that all of this is a vital unicum?
E perché non poter credere che tutto ciò sia un unicum vitale?
A unicum with its thought or something similar but ineffable, and trying to communicate it: the future that observes us?
Un unicum col suo pensiero o qualcosa di simile ma ineffabile, e che provi a comunicarcelo: il futuro che ci osserva?

The two high magnification (about 15,000x) electron microscopy photos of cells are from my studies of Botrylloides leachi, a primitive organism that lives only in the sea. Perhaps our ancestor of te oceans.
The other photos (in acqua alta) were taken with a Ricoh amphibious camera (rugged camera) that I always carry in my pocket ready for… the moment.
The child born out of water is our son Jacopo:
the future.
Le due foto di cellule a microscopia elettronica ad alto ingrandimento (circa 15.000x) provengono dai miei studi cellulari su Botrylloides leachi, un organismo primitivo che vive soltanto in mare. Forse un nostro antenatodegli oceani.
Le altre foto (con acqua alta) sono state realizzate con una fotocamera anfibia della Ricoh (rugged camera) che porto sempre in tasca pronta per… l’attimo.
Il bambino uscito dall’acqua è nostro figlio Jacopo:
il futuro.
